On December 18, the third (enlarged) meeting of the 4th board of directors of the School of Business, Jiangnan University was held in Jiangsu LAD Group. Nearly eighty people, including leaders of Jiangnan University, leaders of Federation of Industry and Commerce of Wuxi City, leaders of the members of the fourth board of directors of the School of Business, social elites and entrepreneurs who are enthusiastic about higher education, leaders of relevant functional departments of the university and cadre teacher representatives of the School of Business, attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Jiamin, party secretary of the School of Business.
Firstly, Ms. Huang Liting, vice chairman of the 4th board of directors of the School of Business, founder and chairman of Jiangsu LAD Group and executive chairman of this meeting, gave a welcome address. She extended a warm welcome to entrepreneurs who gathered at LAD Group to attend the event and briefly reviewed the 23 years of pioneering work of Jiangsu LAD Group. Now the company has grown into a diversified group with 16 subsidiaries covering four fields, garment trade, urban energy, modern service industry and financial investment. She said that real economy was the foundation of China's economic development, the secret of rapid enterprise development was innovation and transformation, and enterprises in transformation and development should took the responsibilities and missions entrusted by the new era, insist on the concept of education first and innovation-oriented, support the development of the educational cause, seek common development between schools and enterprises and inject new impetus to the sustainable development of enterprises.
Jiang Tuo, party secretary of Jiangnan University, attended the meeting and made a speech. He introduced the major accomplishments and development visions of school development in 2017 and affirmed the positive and important contributions made by the School of Business in the overall rapid development of the university, especially its useful exploration in actively docking the national development needs and regional innovation system construction, actively promoting the reform of the operating mechanism of the second-tier board of directors and building distinctive brands. He said that the development of the university and the school could not be separated from the long-term support of numerous industry leaders and social elites who were full of social responsibility and home-grown feelings like Chairman Jiang Xipei and Chairman Huang Litai. He pointed out that the university was the innovation engine of the society, and it should provide the board members and industry enterprises with an endless stream of intelligence and talent support for innovation and development. Jiangnan University is about to welcome the 60th anniversary. He hopes that the board members can make concerted efforts and offer advice and suggestions to the future development of Jiangnan University and the School of Business. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping's socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, the university will not forget the original intention of running a university satisfying the needs of the public, fulfilling the fundamental task of education for strengthening moral education and cultivating talents and vigorously promoting the distinctive research university construction and the "dual first-rate" education.
Teng Lefa, dean of the School of Business, sincerely thanked Jiangsu LAD Group for its elaborate preparations for the smooth holding of this board meeting and made an annual report on behalf of the party and government administration of the school. The report reviewed the progress made by the School of Business in the fields of discipline construction, talent training, scientific research and social services over the past year, reported the achievements made by the board of directors in strengthening internal building, deepening the cooperation between schools and enterprises and exploring diversified schooling in the past year as well as the financing and use of "Shangxue Education Fund", and put forward the ideas and measures of the new board of directors of the School of Business in further improving the system and mechanism innovation, promoting the in-depth integration between schools and enterprises and working together to achieve joint development and win-win cooperation.
Subsequently, the 2017 School of business of Jiangnan university "Far East Award", "Renda Award" teaching ceremony was held. Zhu Jinwei and other 4 people won the "Far East Award for Teaching (Teaching Contribution Award)", Ren Hualiang and other 2 people were awarded the "Far East Award for Teaching (Service Contribution Award)"; Li Feng and the other one were awarded the "Reanda Award (Shangchuang Award) "; He Jiafeng and other 6 people were awarded the " Reanda Award (Shangxue Award)”. The leaders of Far East Holding Group, Jiangsu Reanda Group and School of business of Jiangnan university are award-winning teacher award. Professor Zhu Jinwei, on behalf of the award-winning teachers, delivered a speech, express gratitude to companies, and expressed their feelings of being willing to observe the podium and cultivating the morality.
At the meeting, the Far East Holding Group donated 10 million yuan to the "Shangxue Education Fund" of the business school. This is a donation once again after the Far East Holding Group donated 2 million yuan to the business school in 2016. Vice President of Jiangnan University, Gu Zhengbiao, on behalf of Jiangnan University Foundation for Educational Development accepted the invitation of Jiang Xipei, Chairman of Far East Holding Group. Zhou Dongjiao, an investor, assistant president and chief human resource officer of the Far East holding group, and Huang Min, director of social resources division of Jiangnan University, signed the donation agreement. The signing ceremony brought the meeting to a climax.
Finally, Mr. Jiang Xipei, the fourth school of business board chairman, Far East Holding Group founder and chairman of the board delivered a ebullience speech. He said that the key elements of a company's business growth and expansion wrer its capital and talent advantages, and only opportunities , keeping up with the needs of the country and the times, can enable enterprises to go farther and faster. He introduced the responsibility and mission of the Far East Holding Group. After over 30 years of grind, it formed three major businesses, including industry, education and philanthropy. Far east group set up the Far East charitable foundation in 2007.It dedicated to helping disabled people and the social vulnerable groups, making a positive contribution to the social progress and development of social welfare and social civilization, which has had a huge social impact. Far East Group also requires employees to uphold the spirit of the concept-- "do a good thing every year, volunteers to do one day", which expressed the entrepreneur often feel grateful feelings. Jiang Xipei said: "The people's longing for a better life is our goal." The support and investment in education is always the pursuit and goal of the enterprise. As the board chairman of the school of business, we will further leverage the advantages of both school and enterprise. Promote close cooperation and in-depth integration with high-quality enterprises, do a good job in strengthening the board of directors.
The meeting also invited professor Li Zuojun, the Institute of Resources and Environmental Policy Research Institute of the State Council deputy director and doctoral tutor, to make a thematic report ,which was “the current economic hot spots and corporate development layout”. And he made the on-site interaction for the board of directors and delegates to build a more extensive and open field of vision platform, which providing a forward-looking perspective to help directors units better plan for strategic layout. It is also a useful attempt by the board of directors to carry out the concept of co - building and co - winning.
